The annual Up & Coming awards celebrate outstanding legal professionals who are 40 or younger or who are within their first 10 years of practice. Honorees have demonstrated professional accomplishment, skill and leadership beyond their years as well as extraordinary commitment to their communities through volunteer service and leadership.

About Matthew McCoy:

Matt McCoy is an associate attorney at Presley & Presley, devoting his practice to handling a broad range of personal injury matters, including serious motor vehicle accidents as well as insurance bad faith claims.

Matt has had the unique opportunity to be involved in several high profile jury trials early in his career. He assisted with the 2018 Bryce Masters v. Timothy Runnels case, in which a federal jury returned a verdict of $6.5 million for an unarmed teen tasered by a police officer. Matt was also a key member of the trial team in Skow vs. American Family Insurance Co., in which the firm won an $11 million verdict in a bad-faith lawsuit. He is also a key contributor to the Bad Faith Update, the firm’s acclaimed newsletter, and was recently named to the National Trial Lawyers 40 Under 40 list.

Through the Presley & Presley law firm, Matt supports a number of philanthropic organizations including Operation Breakthrough and the University of Kansas Hospital Burn Unit and he is personally involved in the Speak Up Foundation, Harvesters and Toys for Tykes.
