Millions of Americans flock to water parks to beat the heat of the summer. In these parks, the most popular attraction is typically the water slides. Unfortunately, there are many instances when using these slides results in serious injury and even fatalities.
Causes of Injuries
Besides faulty design, most injuries on water slides occur due to the negligence of the property owner. Whether safety inspections have not been performed on a regular basis or there are not enough staff members to provide proper supervision, owners are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for their patrons and employees. Failure to do so can result in liability if an injury happens on the property.
Using water slides can result in the following:
- Collisions with other patrons
- Being thrown from the slide
- Banging your head against the slide or fixtures
- Hitting objects in the pool below
- Becoming trapped within a slide
After sustaining an injury from a water slide, you must collect the names and contact information of any witnesses, as well as take pictures of the slide and area that caused injury.
